16mm Wide-Angle Lens

Why We Made This

We realized mobile wide-angle photography often suffers from edge distortion and loss of detail. We built the 16mm Retro to provide a cinematic field of view without the 'fish-eye' effect, making it the perfect companion for landscape creators and architectural storytellers who demand edge-to-edge sharpness.

EIS Handheld Stabilization

Electronic Image Stabilization reads your iPhone's gyroscope in real-time, canceling out hand tremors frame by frame. Even at extreme focal lengths, your footage stays fluid and tripod-smooth — without the tripod.

FAQs

The lens attaches to your phone's camera system and works with a wide range of smartphones. The T-Mount version is specifically designed for Fotorgear Retro Cases, which are available for iPhone and select Android flagship models. The universal clip version works with most smartphones on the market.

To be sure, check the product page for the complete compatibility list. If your phone's camera module is centered and not obstructed by an unusually thick case, the clip-on version should work without issues.

Yes — and the difference is optical, not digital. Your phone's zoom and portrait mode process the image with software, which loses detail and can look artificial around edges and hair. This lens uses real glass to physically change how light hits your sensor, so the effect (compression, bokeh, macro detail, wide field of view — depending on the lens) holds up at full resolution, with none of the software smoothing or artifacts.

No. Attach the clip to your phone, screw the lens onto the mount, and you're ready to shoot — most people are set up in under a minute.

We recommend using the Fotorgear Case for a more stable, precisely aligned connection, especially for longer focal lengths like the 400mm or an anamorphic lens.

No. This lens gives you a wide field of view while keeping edges straight and sharp — no fisheye curve. If you want that curved look, check out our 8mm Fisheye lens instead.

Both — it's popular for landscape and architecture photography, and just as useful for wide cinematic video shots.

A very nice lens and very useful, as the Xiaomi 17 Ultra has an ultra wide lens of inferior quality I have been using this external lens over the main camera (23mm --> 14mm ). I am getting very good fotos and videos with high luminosity and detail.

The only problem is with the rubber cap on the attachment side that comes loose all the time. Some users may find this annoying.
